The National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NaLEC) officially launched its new national campaign, For the Life of the World: Faith, Compassion, and Global Health, during a special Global Health Briefing this past Monday that gathered pastors, faith leaders, advocates, and community voices committed to responding to the pressing realities impacting vulnerable communities around the world.
The initiative marks a significant step in mobilizing the Church to engage global health issues through a biblical and compassionate lens, calling believers not only to awareness, but to faithful action.
“This campaign is an invitation for the Church to see more clearly, care more deeply, and respond faithfully to the realities shaping lives across the world,” organizers shared during the briefing.
The campaign was created to help equip pastors, ministry leaders, and local congregations with educational resources, discipleship tools, prayer initiatives, and community engagement opportunities centered on global health and human dignity.
Through storytelling, digital engagement, and leadership development, NaLEC hopes to raise a generation of “Global Health Champions” who will advocate for healing, justice, and compassionate action within their communities.
Global health is not simply a policy issue, but a Gospel issue, one that reflects the Church’s calling to love neighbors, care for the vulnerable, and pursue the healing of nations.
“As we learn together, we begin to respond together,” this campaign states, “through prayer, compassion, and action that reflects the love of Christ.”
The initiative will also create collaborative spaces for churches and organizations to engage conversations surrounding healthcare access, maternal and child health, vulnerable populations, mental health awareness, humanitarian response, and holistic community care from a faith-centered perspective.
A major milestone of the campaign will take place on August 16, 2026, with the launch of Global Health Sunday a nationwide moment of teaching, prayer, reflection, and unified worship focused on the healing of the nations. Churches across the country will be invited to participate through sermons, prayer gatherings, educational resources, and community engagement efforts.
“When the Church understands, the Church responds,”
As momentum continues to grow, NaLEC is inviting churches, pastors, ministry leaders, and believers across the nation to join the movement and become part of a collective response grounded in faith, compassion, and hope.
