NaLEC Advocacy Day and Awareness Days at Washington, DC.

28 Senate offices. Real conversations. Real impact for our community.

Our NaLEC Advocacy & Awareness Day began last week with a purposeful visit to Capitol Hill—because advocating and educating around critical issues isn’t optional, it’s essential. From global health and foreign aid to immigration and SNAP, these policies directly shape the well-being, stability, and future of the families we serve every day.

We carried real stories and real solutions into 28 Senate offices, advocating for strategies that mitigate harmful cuts to vital programs like SNAP. When programs are threatened, families feel it first—and hardest.

This impactful time in Washington, D.C. continued with two days of leadership, alignment, and forward movement during our 2026 Board Meeting. These moments reflected the work behind the vision—thoughtful conversations, strategic updates, and key decisions shaping what’s ahead.

From advocacy efforts to organizational growth and long-term sustainability, every conversation was centered on strengthening our impact. By building relationships, aligning leadership, and elevating community voices, we’re ensuring these priorities are not just heard—but acted on.

We are grateful for the unity, wisdom, and commitment around the table. Our work continues.

This is why we advocate. Your voice matters—and this is how change happens.
